Dr. Jomaa is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences within the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). As a Fulbright scholar, she earned her Master’s and doctoral degrees in Nutritional Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University (USA) with a specialization in community nutrition.
Dr. Jomaa currently serves as a co-director of the Refugee Health Program as part of the Global Health Institute at AUB and she is a member of the Food Security Program at FAFS. In addition, she is a member of the Refugee and Asylum Seeker Health Initiative (RAHI) at the University of San Francisco, California.

Dr. Jomaa’s current research interests include the assessment of food and nutrition security of vulnerable population groups, including women and children from refugee and impoverished host communities in Lebanon; exploring the dietary intake and nutritional status of youth and young adults; and implementing community-based nutrition education interventions to help alleviate the risk of malnutrition in its various forms among vulnerable groups.
